Distributieketting vervangen 190D?

Specifieke zaken omtrent het rijden op diesel, met de W201 kunnen hier geplaatst worden zodat we alle zaken omtrent diesel hier verzameld hebben staan.

Wanneer zou ik deze moeten vervangen, en hoe moet ik hem vervangen.
Heb zat riemen gedaan, maar nog nooit een ketting!

De ketting van een diesel hoeft eigenlijk niet zo vaak vervangen te worden: hij wordt hydraulisch op spanning gehouden. Als de ketting begint te klapperen (dus niet het spansysteem van de multiriem maar de ketting zelf!) allereerst de hydraulische kettingspanner controleren. Het vervangen van de ketting is wel een flinke klus en allicht dat je ook de tandwielen moet vervangen.

De motor tikkert wel af en toe, vooral bij koude start.
Maar dat kunnen ook de klepstoters zijn.

Hij heeft 260.000 km op het klokje staan.
