De demper van mijn 2.6 zag er eigenlijk nog best goed uit. Ik heb wel vorig jaar een sliert van dat glas-dempingsspul eruit getrokken. Het leek wel of de wagen een staart had. Een metertje van dat spul eruit getrokken en veder niet meer aan gedacht.
Laatst kon ik voor 50 euro een nieuwe einddemper kopen dus dat maar gedaan, toch met het gevoel dat de oude wel eens verrot kon zijn van binnen.
Even een kijkgaatje erin gemaakt en dat dempingsspul zit dus erg dicht op elkaar gedrukt in de demper en er zit heel veel in. De 2 uitlaat pijpjes aan de achterkant lopen dus normaal in de demper door en zijn geperforeerd. Binnenin was dus alles verrot en het dempingsspul gaat dan de uitlaatgassen tegenwerken. De uitlaat raakt als het ware verstopt en de motor kan niet meer goed ademen. Ik merkte dat aan het "luie" karakter van auto. Met de nieuwe demper is er veel meer trekkracht en de auto start (nog) beter. Logisch als je de foto's bekijkt:
Dus: is je eind demper oud dan is er een goede kans dat deze net zo verrot is. Vervangen dus.

Ik had een imitatie einddemper erop. Nu trouwens weer want ik heb toevallig dezelfde gekocht. Maar de originele einddempers zullen ook wel verrotten van binnen, met de tijd. Ook heb ik zo'n endoscoop via eBay gekocht. Dat lijkt me wel handig voor veel dingen. Ik ga er ook eens mee door een bougiegat kijken. Aansluiten op een laptop en gaan. Kosten: €30.00
